By popular demand, the 4-Day Fashion & Beauty Studio Workshop is BACK!
SPONSORED BY:
Lead by award winning, Fashion & Beauty Photographer, Kevin Michael Reed, this intense four-day workshop explores the essentials of fashion & beauty photography in the studio through a series of lectures, presentations, discussion, hands on training, and shooting. Though there is an agenda spanning 11 hours each day, this free-form workshop will take a shape of its own to accommodate the needs of all attendees.
Additional topics will include: developing a concept, casting the appropriate model for the look you’re trying to achieve, selecting the appropriate team for your concept, communicating with your team, executing a story, post production, and submitting to magazines.
Through hands on shoots with agency models, with whom the group will cast, and supported by accomplished fashion stylists, makeup artists and hair stylists, attendees will explore the basic ideas, concepts, and components of fashion photography. The basics of one-light, high-key, and experimental lighting setups will be demonstrated and explored and attendees will walk away with at least three separate fashion stories to use in their books.
Each night, the group will discuss what they learned during the shooting period and have critiques of their work from the previous day.
The group will also take a field trip to the world renowned Museum at the International Center of Photography to explore what it is to live a photographic lifestyle.
Guest speakers will discuss Fashion Styling, Editing your Work, and Retouching and Approaching clients through effective marketing.
Guest Speakers Include:
— to be announced —
The Creative Team Includes:

TESTIMONIALS FROM PREVIOUS WORKSHOP ATTENDEES:
I can, without a doubt, recommend this workshop to everyone who really wants to advance in photography. It is the best workshop I have ever attended and I look forward to the next one! This workshop was really worth the journey from Switzerland to New York. -Daniel Wildhaber (NYC Studio Workshop April 2010)
A workshop that indeed ignites Passion for fashion Photography! I am a much better photographer today than the one I was a week ago! I loved Kevin, Joao, and the whole creative team and definitely am joining another workshop with them soon! -Aziza Salman (NYC Studio Workshop April 2010)
It was the relaxed atmosphere, the details about lighting setups, the use of real models, stylists, and make-up, the lack of time pressure, and the openness of sharing hard information really made this workshop excellent in every way! -David Hartcorn (December 2009 NYC Studio Workshop attendee)
“I have been a working professional for about 10 yrs and, while I always desire to learn more, I expect those moments to be rich with new information. Kevin provided a learning experience that kept me challenged and engaged throughout the entire week. The blend of theory, business and practical enables every photographer with an opportunity to strengthen upon those areas where they have greatest need. And the guest speakers provide a variety of perspectives that reinforce the key learning points. This workshop was, hands down, the best I have taken. If you’ve got the time and the dough, do this.” -Lyndon Goveas (December 2009 NYC Studio Workshop Attendee)
