The Life of an Intern: The Boulder
The Life of An Intern. A series by the Interns of The KMR Group.
In relation, our own ambition and drive as assistants, photographers, interns and creative types alike, mirror the driving force behind Sisyphus’ actions. Fashion is unpredictable and is constantly throwing curve balls when least expected. It wears us down and, at times, seems never ending. But, while interning with Kevin, I’ve realized how the struggle to attain success calls for pure ambition, focus and drive. These key attributes make us stronger and are invaluable tools that help us reach our professional goals. I’ve seen Kevin’s ambition help him overcome obstacles from daily shoots, marketing and running a business. It is an everyday affair. I have learned from him how to professionally handle and cope with all of these daily stresses and I have come to an understanding that having an undying passion for the industry is necessary in helping to get by all of the boulders that comes rolling downhill.
And, unlike Sisyphus’ eternal struggle, I know that these newly realized tools will provide the drive and determination to, one day, push that boulder over the mountain’s peak so that I can see the path to my professional success in clear view.
