New York City - 4 Day Intensive Fashion Photography Workshop with Kevin Michael Reed

New York City – 4 Day Intensive Fashion Photography Workshop with Kevin Michael Reed

Lead by award winning, Fashion & Beauty Photographer, Kevin Michael Reed, this intense four-day workshop explores the essentials of fashion photography in the studio through a series of lectures, presentations, discussion, hands on training and shooting. Though there is an agenda spanning 11 hours each day, this free-form workshop will take a shape of its own to accommodate the needs of all attendees.

Understanding how to communicate with your team and your model is essential to creating fashion imagery that sells fashion and lifestyles; Through hands on shoots with agency models, with whom the group will cast, and supported by accomplished fashion stylists, makeup artists and hair stylists, attendees will explore the basic ideas, concepts and components of fashion photography. The basics of one-light, high key and experimental lighting setups will be demonstrated and explored and attendees will walk away with three separate fashion stories to use in their books.

Each night, the group will discuss what they learned during the shooting period and critique their work from the previous day.

Guest speakers will discuss Fashion Styling, Editing Your Work, Retouching and Approaching Clients through effective marketing.

Guest Speakers Include:
Joseph Ungoco, Editorial Director and Fashion News Director for WhatsWear.com
Stephen Eastwood, Fashion & Beauty Photographer and Canon Explorer of Light
[[[[MORE GUEST SPEAKERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!]]]]

As a special bonus, “The Business of Fashion Photography” will be examined and discussed, including how to effectively market your photography, who to target with your marketing, how to estimate to win jobs, how to get the job, and how to keep your clients coming back again and again. Attendees will walk away with a book of all the essential business and planning paperwork they will need to effectively and profitably run their business.

The group will also take a “Field Trip” to the International Center of Photography’s exhibition “Dress Code” and treated to a guided tour of the exhibit. (Cost included in Tuition)

The workshop will take place at CaptureRoom Studios in the heart of New York City’s Garment District, just steps from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Three studios will be made available for the shooting sessions. Attendees will have the opportunity to shoot with a PhaseOne digital back and will have access to over $150,000 in lighting equipment.

We have arranged special rates at two hotels near the studio for those coming from out of town.
