The Life of An Intern. A series by the Interns of The KMR Group.

So, I’m here to tell you a little about what a ‘normal’ day in the KMR studio is like… so… to begin…there are rarely ‘normal’ days. We go from sitting at desks researching and making calls, to setting up lights and working on shoots; painting walls, and even to destroying set walls armed with only a hammer. All in all, every day allows for at least one thing if not many interesting things to occur. The days we are shooting are great! The whole energy of the studio changes once you add the models (and sometimes their parents), wardrobe stylist, the hair stylist, Chris (a make-up artist who loves to sing and dance to EVERY song that is played☺), plus all of us interns and assistants, Adrianna (the Production Manager), and, of course, KMR himself.

The best way to end my day happened about a week ago when it was assigned to Curtis and myself to strike the old set. Me, the more rationally inclined in this situation, proposed that we use a saw to cut the 4′ x 8′ wood panels into 4′ x 4′ pieces to fit in the dumpster. However, Curtis had a better idea. All it required was a little bit of hammer and a lot a bit of whacking.

Twenty minutes later, we (meaning Curtis) had completed our task of turning the panels from 4′ x 8′ into two 4′ x 4′s, as best as we could. Another thirty minutes later we had completed the task of cleaning up the shards of wood that had scattered across the entire studio.

All in all, it was a job well done! We began with a set and by the end of the night, it was gone.
